Roman chamomile is a small plant also called noble chamomile, Anthemis noble, anthémis fragrant chamomile d'Anjou. Roman chamomile (chamomile noble) is native to North Africa and Western Europe. It is known for thousands of years in ancient Egypt it would be dedicated to the sun god.

The chamomile floral water is obtained by distillation of the flowers by steam distillation. It appears as a clear, colorless liquid with a sweet and herbaceous fragrance and slightly honeyed flavor.

Uses of Roman chamomile

Roman chamomile is still among the most consumed plants thanks to its multiple benefits.
It is first of all an excellent appetite stimulant that also helps digestion. As such, it fights against aerophagy and flatulence.

Roman chamomile is used in various fields like medicine, cosmetics, cooking and gardening.
In medical field Roman chamomile is tonic, stomachic, antispasmodic and analgesic.
Via external use by massage, it is effective against eye irritation, sore throat and rhinitis. In terms of cosmetics, it is used in many cosmetics and remains a natural hair dye, to give a blond effect.

Roman chamomile is an excellent fungicide since attempting to reduce damping. Finally it remains popular with cookers who use them to decorate salads and desserts.
